Congratulations to Ramin Javadi (Oregon State University), CUbiC scholar from PI Tejasvi Anand's group, on being selected as the Best Student paper winner at the 2025 IEEE Custom Integrated Circuits Conference (CICC) Best Paper Competition, for his paper, "A 0.055pJ/bit/dB 42Gb/s PAM-4 Wireline Transceiver with Consecutive Symbol to Center (CSC) Encoding and Classification for 26dB Loss in 16nm FinFET". The research demonstrated the use of machine learning in a wireline transceiver to compensate for the channel loss, and it showed a significant energy efficiency improvement over the conventional approach.
